About me

GRACE MALLEY, New York

BA in Art History, Entrepreneurship, and American Culture Studies from Washington University in St Louis

From a young age I have always seen the power of art. The power of understanding, noticing, and learning. As Edward Degas put it “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” Pursuing my passion at University I began to notice arts power in the market. It is a unpredictable driver of the economy and foundation of culture. I geared my focus on three realms, as the sheer volume of art is exasperating, those being female artists, art financing, and the Asian art sector. Using my background in research my works examine how political history, cultural identity, and economic forces shape contemporary artistic value.
